What involves 400 people, two days and two states? Our Shamrock summer picnic! For the first time in eight years, we gathered with our Taco Bell and Dunkin’ leaders and their families to celebrate a year of hard work. This year, we took our picnic series on the road, with two separate gatherings.
The Scene
The theme was “Picnic Like it’s 1994” in honor of Shamrock Company’s founding year! The first picnic took place at Six Flags Great America for our Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois leaders and the second was at Michigan’s Adventure for our Michigan teams.
“Today’s our opportunity to thank not just the managers that we work with, but the managers’ families,” says Shamrock President & CEO Dan McGue. “Every restaurant worker knows it takes an entire family to do this job.”
“We don’t just work with each other, we also have a great time with each other inside and outside of the restaurant.” – Dan McGue, President & CEO
Having Fun & Making Memories
The goal of both celebrations was to honor a job well done and gather our people for a day of team building and memory making. Our west Michigan Dunkin’ team took the opportunity to recognize their team’s one year operating anniversary! “We’re super proud of them and we felt it was important to celebrate them today,” shares Regional Vice President of Operations Ali Youtz.
“We’re a family-oriented business, and we like celebrating not only with our leaders of the restaurants, but the families of our leaders,” says Chief Operating Officer Rob Russ.
Rob particularly enjoys the opportunity to observe people who joined as team members and now hold leadership roles. “We really love to see our folks grow,” he says. “That’s exciting.”
Satisfied Guests
The feedback was resoundingly positive! “I love to see the happiness in my team,” shares Regional Vice President of Operations Rustum Sayyed. “They’re all together and they all have fun.”
Area Director Jasmine Garcia was particularly emotional about what these picnics represent for the company. “I think it’s so meaningful just knowing how far we’ve come and how far we’re gonna go,” she shares.
Our Shamrock teams rock. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
