With the presence of spring comes new growth and what better way to celebrate than with more tacos and Mexican pizza for greater Chicago! 

At the tail-end of 2023, we opened a new Taco Bell in Glen Ellyn, IL and proudly promoted our very own Kayla Shoemaker from Assistant General Manager (AGM) of one of Shamrock’s busiest Taco Bells (in Bolingbrook, IL) to Restaurant General Manager (RGM) of the new Glen Ellyn location.

Shamrock now owns and operates 29 Taco Bells in the Chicago market.

How’s it going? At the time of our interview, Kayla’s restaurant was at the two-and-a-half-month mark with steadily increasing sales and ZERO customer complaints. According to Kayla, the absence of complaints is rare. Sounds supremely successful to us!

Kayla, describing herself as a hands-on manager, says her priority this first year in business is building a really strong team. “Training everyone to do things right,” she says.

HAZEL CREST: NOW OPEN!

Forty-five minutes southeast of Chicago, Shamrock Company’s newest Taco Bell opened at the end of February in Hazel Crest, IL. And we’re still hiring!

Under the helm of RGM Nataly Reyes, Hazel Crest has attracted a healthy mix of guests: local families; uniformed staff from a nearby hospital; even regulars from Nataly’s previous location in Marcum, IL, where she got her start with us just last year as Shift Leader. Nataly is a shining example of someone moving up our career ladder quickly!

According to Nataly, the Hazel Crest team is working together to preserve the newness of their clean, modern restaurant.

And Nataly’s goal? Just like Kayla, to build and properly train her team. 

“I want them to excel in their positions,” she says. To have people come in here really motivated … I just really want this to be a place that they like to come to work.”

After all, Nataly has enjoyed her experience transitioning from waitressing elsewhere to managing her own Taco Bell.
