Three years ago, Assistant General Manager (AGM) David Muñoz immigrated to the U.S. from Colombia to join his dad, who already lived here. Moving to a foreign country can be challenging at any age, and here he was, a brave teenager!
Starting out in a new country wasn’t easy, he confirms — he knew very little English and everything was so unfamiliar. But then David met his best friend, Raudin Aguilar, who was a Taco Bell Shift Manager at the time. Raudin encouraged him to apply for a job, and played an active role in David’s training and development.
David could apply for a restaurant job anywhere, so why Shamrock Company? “Taco Bell stood out to me because it wasn’t just about the food,” David says. “It was more about the people, from the beginning.”

David joined the Shamrock family as a Food Champion, eventually moving up to Service Champion and then Shift Manager. He says he’s felt supported here from Day 1, and that makes us incredibly proud of the people we employ!

“I never felt alone in my journey,” David shares. He emphasizes how patient his team and managers were throughout the transition — while he was still learning English, no one ever made him feel less capable, he says.

Promotion & Potential
Today, David is three months in as AGM at our Glendale Heights, IL, Taco Bell on North Avenue. He’s also a part-time student at the nearby College of DuPage, studying audio production (he plays guitar), with a vocational interest in becoming an accountant someday.
With every new role he assumes here, David has embraced more responsibility and knowledge. And as he’s grown as a restaurant leader, he’s found the most reward in training other people. “I know what it’s like to start from the bottom,” he shares.
