Adrian Perez is Restaurant General Manager (RGM) for our Elgin, IL Taco Bell at McLean Boulevard and Big Timber Road in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, a position he’s held for a year. He’s pleased with his career progression at Shamrock Company so far — in just four years, Adrian has moved up our ladder of opportunity from Service Champion to manager.

“It’s been going really great,” he shares. “I’m already in a good position for my age. And, I feel like there’s still opportunity to grow.”

For Adrian, being promoted to manager really made him feel recognized, he says. He mentions how meaningful it’s been to have Shamrock leaders like Dan McGue and Rob Russ personally congratulate him for doing a great job. 

“If you do your job and do it properly, people are going to recognize you,” he says. 

Recognition is just part of our culture at Shamrock. In fact, Adrian is not only fond of his own team but he knows how to motivate them, too, with this same appreciative approach.

“I always say, every time I get a new employee,” he begins, “All the hard work you put in, all the extra hours … it doesn’t go unnoticed.”

And hard work pays off at Shamrock! Adrian says it was challenging when he first became manager, but he just made top three RGMs companywide in 2023!

So what’s next for this rising star? Showing incredible self-awareness, Adrian admits that while he likes learning new things, he’s not ready for more advancement — yet. He says he’s thought about it and still sees room for improvement, so he‘s giving himself more time to grow in his current position.
