CALVIN GALLOWAY CAN DO IT ALL

Categories:

In 2007, Calvin Galloway had just been released from prison. He was in need of a workplace that would give him a second chance after being incarcerated — and one that would allow him to provide for his family.

In Shamrock Company, he found both.

A REWARDING CAREER

Nineteen years ago, Calvin’s wife noticed that a new Taco Bell had opened near the grocery store she frequented. She told Calvin immediately, and he filled out an application.

“Like they say, the rest is history,” Calvin says.

Almost two decades have passed since Calvin filled out that original paperwork. He started at our Forest Park Il Taco Bell as a Team Member doing, in his words, “a little bit of everything.” Now, he’s a Shift Manager — and a deeply beloved one, by both his colleagues and guests.

“I have loyal customers who love to come see me because I’ve been there for 19 years,” Calvin shares. “They love how I interact with them and how their food tastes.” Catching up with guests is by far his favorite part of the job.

“[Shamrock] gave me a chance when I got out of jail.” – Calvin Galloway, Shift Manager

FAMILY MAN

Calvin loves being a Shift Manager because it gives him the flexibility to be present as a husband and a father. He loves spending time with his nine-year-old son whenever he can. When his wife had a number of surgeries earlier this year, he was able to be there for her while she recovered.

And although Calvin works in the food industry, he still loves to cook at home — sharing that he finds joy in making meals for his family every single day.

SAGE ADVICE

We asked Calvin what he might say to someone in the same position he was in 19 years ago. “You have to want it,” he says. “Taco Bell will give you opportunity, but you have to want it. Everything else will take care of itself.”

We’re so grateful to have you, Calvin. Thank you for all of your hard work!
