DELIDA DEVELOPS INTO A DRIVING FORCE AT SHAMROCK

Categories:

Delida Uriostegui-Solano is a longtime employee of Shamrock Company. In fact, she’s grown up with us, having first joined at age 15 when Shamrock’s only restaurant brand was KFC. She started out as a cashier.

“That being my first job, I was nervous and very scared,” she says, reflecting on her teenage years.

“I think it’s important to love what you do.” – Delida Uriostegui-Solano, VP of Ops

Delida was in middle school then. Like a lot of teenagers, she wanted a job so she could pay for her own stuff and not have to bother her parents. Earning her own money made Delida feel very accomplished and independent. She was able to buy her own phone, a car and two years ago, Delida bought her first house!

Today, Delida is the quintessential example of ambition and opportunity here at Shamrock. After 22 years with our company, most recently as an Area Coach, Delida was recently promoted to

our newest level of leadership, becoming one of two Regional VPs of Taco Bell Operations. This bumps her location count from five restaurants to 21 and growing!

CULTURE KEEPER

Delida was fortunate to have been around while our founder, Steve McGue, was still alive. This means she experienced culture in the making and has witnessed how it’s remained intact through the years.

Delida shares about Steve. “He was a very humble man,” she says. “He was friendly, just a good people person. He set a good example.”

“It’s just an awesome place to work.” -Delida Uriostegui-Solano, Regional VP of Ops

Shamrock today is as welcoming and inviting as it was decades ago, according to her. Company culture is also very much about care for people and providing opportunity.

“People are the No. 1 thing in our business that either make it or break it,” Delida says. “I really like helping people grow and achieve their goals.”

Coming from Delida, makes perfect sense! She’s experienced the support of leadership along her career path

“All [of] my bosses … they’ve believed in me and they’ve helped me grow to where I am today,” she says.

Now, it’s Delida’s turn to develop leaders and instill Shamrock culture. “As long as they’re willing to put the work into it, I’m always there for them,” she says of her team.

We’re proud of her accomplishments. Want to learn under a great leader? Apply today!
