It’s so exciting to kick off the summer celebrating the sweet success of our very own Dulce-Maria Porcayo, Service Champion at our Taco Bell in Bolingbrook, IL.

Dulce is a first-time recipient of a $10,000 Live Más Scholarship from the Taco Bell Foundation. Initially in shock that she was even selected, Dulce says she knew when she applied that the Foundation’s generous scholarships offered immense opportunity. 

“I just went for it!” she confesses. Clearly, it was worth the effort! 

Like many before her, Dulce agrees that the Foundation has an easy application process in place. Just review the eligibility requirements, produce a short two-minute video and submit before the January deadline. Piece of cake queso!

GETTING READY FOR THE FUTURE

Dulce first heard about Live Más from her manager. But another member of her team has been equally encouraging: her mom! Dulce and her mother Yolanda Oropeza are co-workers at Bolingbrook. In fact, they often open up the restaurant together. 

“It’s a gift because she has pushed herself so much in her studies. We are grateful and happy for this blessing.”

As you can imagine, Yolanda is proud of her daughter, and grateful.

Dulce is thankful to the Taco Bell Foundation, too. “It’s sort of a relief because I can now pay off my loans,” she says of having this financial support for her education.

But for now, we’re happy Dulce can focus on summer fun and preparing for this exciting next chapter. Her career interest is science, something she says she fell in love with during her last year of high school. 

“Working with bacteria and microscopes, it’s just very cool,” she gushes.
