Oscar Ocampo is the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) for our Taco Bell restaurant in Wheaton, IL and has been with Shamrock Company for nearly three years. In that short time, he’s made quick work of climbing the career ladder, starting as a Food Champion, then being promoted to Shift Lead and Assistant Manager roles before being approached about the RGM opportunity.

As with starting any new job, when Oscar first joined our team, he was a bit nervous and intimidated. “It was a fast-paced environment I wasn’t accustomed to,” he shares. “But I found that I really enjoyed working on the line and making food.” 

Oscar says his team and the teamwork became favorite perks of the job.

Opportunities for Growth

One challenge Oscar has attacked with impressive commitment is the language barrier he’s encountered. English is not Oscar’s first language, but he’s been taking classes and learning little by little with the support of everyone around him.

He says that on hard days, the guests are what keep him motivated. Fittingly, Oscar’s life motto is, “Nothing in life is impossible.”

Oscar appreciates the opportunities for growth available at Shamrock, and plans to keep doing just that. He’s inspired to work hard by his family and kids, and being a good example for them. Consider that goal already achieved, Oscar!
