Longevity. It’s a common theme for people employed with Shamrock Company. Marcial Hernandez is an Area Director (AD) who’s been with the company since 1997! Twenty-seven years certainly qualifies a person as a subject matter expert in the quick service industry. 

Marcial joined us as a Shift Manager, then quickly moved up the ranks to the Assistant Manager role after one year. Next up was the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) where he stayed for almost 20 years. 

“I think this company just gives opportunities to everybody who’s ready to grow,” Marcial says.

One of the keys to Shamrock’s staying power is investing in training. “When [employees] receive the right training, they always stay a long time,” Marcial shares.

As an AD, Marcial’s job is all about providing support to his team. “We’re always there when they need something,” he says.

Marcial’s goal is to take the “work” out of work. “We try to make it feel like a family,” he shares. “We just take care of them, day by day.”

In return, Marcial finds joy in coming to work every day. “My favorite part is to see all the smiles of the guys in the stores,” he says. “I just feel happy just working with them.” The feeling is mutual!
