At Shamrock Company, we’re runnin’ on coffee and confidence as we continue to expand our Dunkin’ business in western Michigan! We’ve already made some sweet progress in the south metro suburbs of Grand Rapids, MI.

Behind the charge is newly promoted Area Director Olevia Weaver who currently oversees our Jenison, Wyoming, Grandville and Kentwood, MI Dunkin’ locations.
Behind the Role
As Area Director, Olevia’s focus is on making sure our General Managers (GMs) are responsible for their location’s operations, as well as the training and development of all of their people from crew members and bakers to Shift Leads and Assistant General Managers (AGMs).
“All of my stores have very new GMs,” Olevia says. She shares that her goal is to make sure each manager is confident in their leadership and has the support they need to run their business.
After all, she was once one of them! Olevia is originally from Pennsylvania and was recruited by Regional Vice President of Operations Ali Youtz. They were former coworkers with a major fast casual restaurant and bakery brand, where Olevia had worked her way up to RGM.
Once Ali joined our team, the two kept in touch. Olevia says Ali, now her supervisor, spoke very highly of Shamrock.
“She just said it was very, very supportive,” Olevia shares. “She liked the movement and direction the business was going, especially with the opportunities for development into these new roles.”

What Ali told her piqued Olevia’s interest! So she joined the Shamrock family, too, first to help open our Otsego, MI location. She later relocated to be RGM of our Jenison Dunkin’. And continued her development, mostly alongside Ali, she says.
Shining at Shamrock
“Ali’s been a huge part of my growth and development,” Olevia says of her friend and mentor. “I just feel like I’ve had such a huge opportunity … to kind of help and support all these new locations opening.”
It’s been interesting to her to observe operations from a different perspective than when she was a location manager, and see what it takes to open each Dunkin’.
“It’s allowed me to kind of become more strategic, identify new problems that need to be solved,” Olevia explains.
Continuing, she says, “I really enjoy being able to identify the talent and kind of create solutions for my GMs. It’s really nice to kind of see those who are coming in as crew or even bakers just work their way up.”
Most recently, Olevia was able to see the fruits of her labor as an AGM at our Kentwood Dunkin’ was promoted to manager in June. She says she’s so proud!
And here we are, proud of Olevia, too. It’s been an exciting year for our Dunkin’ business and we’re lucky to have such strong leadership in place. Looking forward to what’s next!
